Holiday chaos, stress and "go, go, go"!
3 tips to practice self love this holiday season
1. If it's not a HECK YES! It's a H-E-double hockey stick NO. Stay true to this. Don't feel like you have to give an immediate answer to a request, invite, or opportunity. Answer honestly, "I have to check my schedule when I return home". Be honest, however allow yourself some time to make an informed answer. Too often we respond "yes" automatically and then dread the event/invite/opportunity. Too many "Yes's" end up leaving us unfulfilled.
2. Schedule in "ME TIME" just as you would any party or event. Don't cancel on yourself. Remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup. 1 hour out of 24 hours. 45 minutes out of 24 hours. Those of you with kids, nieces and nephews, little brothers or sisters... remember who is watching you. You may not realize it, AND whether you like it or not, WE are teaching the future generation. They are seeing how you treat yourself and your body.
3. ENJOY THE HOLIDAY!!! By all means, enjoy yourself! This is not the time to "diet" or avoid foods. But don't eat just to eat. Eat the foods you want and skip those that aren't FABULOUS. Forget the "clean plate club". If Great Aunt Edna makes the WORST pumpkin pie in history - don't eat it. If you have to fake a plate and then toss it - do it. Why eat anything that doesn't make you salivate? What this boils down to is - no guilt. Your life - Your choice - No guilt. You have an out.... IF you do over indulge (it's okay, no judgement here) use those extra calories to FUEL your after holiday workouts -If you need ideas - ask me! That means to push like you've never pushed before. Go for those personal records, push an extra 10 seconds, embrace the burn in your muscles. Push yourself!
But most of all, I encourage you to stay true to yourself.
Be strong in your belief.
Be strong in being YOU.
I believe in you.
YOU are a BADASS.
